AVANT GARDE
In the late 60s to early 70s, American graphic designers Herb Labulin and Tom Carnase created the Avant Garde typeface specifically to be used as the new logo for the Avant Garde magazine. The magazine is well known for its modernistic and open-minded content. This forward-thinking messaging led to a clean and futuristic typeface.
The logo was so well received that the director of the Avant Garde magazine asked Labulin and Carnase to develop an entire font based on what they had created. A geometric based sans-serif was soon finalized and praised for its slick and retro, yet futuristic design.

Sampled from Rudolf Koch's “Maximilian,” Gothicus and Gothicus Alternate have Fraktur style capitals. Gothic Script, also known as Blackletter, originated in the 12th century and lasted in popularity to the 17th century. Germany was a large contributor in popularizing gothic script to a wider audience thanks to its widespread use in the Gutenberg Bible.

Frutiger Aero: A design style popularized in the early 2000s lasting to the early 2010s. It originated in UI design, (iPhone, Nintendo Wii, Windows Aero, etc.) and later began to influence a variety of other media. The art represented a dream-like utopia that combines Mother Nature with advancements in modern technology.
